Railway Training Institute (RTI) is committed to nurturing the physical, social and mental well-being of all students through a dynamic and inclusive sports programme. Our goal is to develop well-rounded individuals by promoting teamwork, discipline, leadership and healthy competition.

Sports Offered

Students participate in a wide range of sporting activities, including:

  • Football – one of the most active and popular sports, with both men’s and women’s teams.
  • Basketball – competitive teams that take part in inter-college leagues and tournaments.
  • Volleyball – open to all students, promoting agility, coordination and teamwork.
  • Athletics – track and field activities that build endurance and personal discipline.
  • Table Tennis – fast-paced indoor sport ideal for improving focus and reflexes.
  • Rugby – a fast-growing sport that fosters physical strength and team spirit.
  • Chess – a mental sport that sharpens critical thinking and strategy.
  • Badminton – light, fun and energetic, suitable for both recreational and competitive play.

Sports Activities and Events

RTI regularly organizes inter-class competitions, friendly matches, and participates in national TVET sports events. These activities give students an opportunity to showcase their talents, represent the institution, and build lasting friendships.

Our Commitment

The Dean of Students’ office continues to support sports development by ensuring students have access to well-maintained playing fields, sports equipment, training sessions and experienced coaches. We encourage all students to engage in at least one sporting activity as part of their holistic growth.

Through sports, we aim to build confidence, teamwork, healthy lifestyles, and strong community bonds among our students.
